In this course, participants will consider the connecting platforms available and appropriate, learn about and explore vendors' free offerings, then research and compile lists of potential classroom connections in a wide variety of local, state, and national resources. Modules will consist of videos to view, tasks to accomplish, and reflections to share.

We live in a global community. Regardless one's locale, technology allows connecting with outside sources in new and creative ways. Engaging and maintaining student focus are always challenging, but inviting new experiences and experts into the classroom enhances interest and enriches learning. In this course, participants will consider the connecting platforms available and appropriate, learn about and explore vendors' free offerings, then research and compile lists of potential classroom connections in a wide variety of local, state, and national resources. Modules will consist of videos to view, tasks to accomplish, and reflections to share. Participants will leave the course with a folder of valuable curated resources for immediate or eventual classroom use.

Welcome and Getting Started

A brief overview of the course and introduction to its author.

Module 1: Developing Accessible Online Platform Skills

Choose and practice online platforms meeting your organizations' requirements and accessible to your guests

Module 2: Accessing Vendors' Free Resources

Microsoft, Google, and others offer resource-laden free tools and resources as a helpful starting point

Module 3: Involving Local Leaders

From classroom student families to unrelated community officials, local personalities are ready to enhance student experiences.

Module 4: Bringing in State and National Experts

Leaders of public and private agencies and regional representatives seeking re-election may be more accessible than one might think.

Module 5: Testing the Creative Limits

From coffee roasters to metal sculptors to amusement park operators and beyond, artisans, entrepreneurs, and innovators can bring new creative perspectives

Module 6: Job Networking

Those who hire teens and area teens now successful adults can bring opportunity, challenge, and inspiration to the classroom

Final Reflection and Connection

With a folder filled with contact information and curriculum application, the questions now are when and how often
