Using T-PACK to Build Tech Lessons

 

Rich technology in the classroom connects learners to new ideas, phenomena, and the outside world. Not only does technology impact what is taught, but it also impacts how it is taught. When deciding how to use technology in the classroom, educators should consider a number of critical questions.  TPACK assists teachers in better understanding how to integrate technology with content in their planning and instruction. The more planning educators can put into their plans, the more likely it is that they will succeed.

Here is the course outline:

T-PACK - Welcome and Introduction

This course focuses on TPACK, or Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge, a framework for integrating technology and education and provides a model for structuring classrooms to deliver rich educational experiences to students.

Module 1: An Analysis of the T-PACK Framework

This module will explain the TPACK Framework's purpose and why it is critical for teachers to use it when integrating technology in the classroom.

Module 2: Unpacking T-PACK

In this module, we will deconstruct the three primary types of knowledge and how they overlap to form TPACK.

Module 3: Incorporating T-PACK Into the Classroom

We will examine how the TPACK model improves classroom instruction by seamlessly incorporating content, strategies and technology.

Final Reflection and Connection

The final reflection and quiz for this course will allow you to demonstrate your knowledge of planning with TPACK.
